Job Description:
Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, located in Tarrytown, NY is seeking
an Associate Director of Veterinary Services . This position is
within Velocigene, the division of Regeneron responsible for
designing, producing and maintaining genetically engineered rodents
to enable Regeneron to discover, invent, develop, manufacture, and
commercialize medications for the treatment of serious medical
conditions. In this exciting role, you will assist the executive
director in administering a quality, AAALAC-i accredited program of
animal care and use for animal research and production facilities.
A Typical Day in the Role of Associate Director Might Look Like:
Responsible for helping the executive director oversee all aspects
of veterinary services. Oversight of staff veterinarians and
veterinary technicians. Works cohesively and collaboratively with
all veterinarians across Velocigene. Collaborates with veterinary
pathologists within Regeneron. Collaborates cohesively with
Vivarium Operations team. Assists researchers in design of their
protocols. Assists in documentation preparation required for
continued AAALAC-i accreditation. Develops SOPs and guidelines for
all enrichment and veterinary care procedures. Assists with
training programs for animal husbandry staff, veterinary
technicians and research staff utilizing animals. Assists in
oversight of regulatory compliance. Participates in resident
training program in laboratory animal medicine. Oversight of
controlled substances program. This Role Might Be for You If You:

possess a DVM with specialty in Laboratory Animal Medicine and 5-10
years of experience in related position preferred. Additional
requirements include: - Managerial Experience in laboratory animal
medicine and science is desirable. Knowledge of applicable
regulations regarding the proper standards of animal care and use
in a research environment is required. Required Licenses &
Certificates: DVM. NYS license and ACLAM board or eligibility is
