POSITION SUMMARYThe Branch Manager is responsible for the overall success of the branch.This includes the overall administration of sales, operations, cross-sell, customer experience, customer service, audit and employee development goals. Includes the development and retention of a high performing sales/service team through leadership and coaching in all aspects of sales, service and operational excellence.Acquire, integrate, and optimize new and existing consumer and small business customer relationships through outside calling efforts (50%-60% of time).Serve as a partner to all lines of business for effective customer acquisition, cross-sell and retention.Grow portfolio of assigned loans and deposits.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.Other duties may be assigned.

  • Management of and total accountability for a branch office in meeting administrative, compliance, operational, sales and service, and profitability goals of the bank.
  • Make business development calls (50%-60% of time) to enhance existing relationships, solicit new deposit and loan relationships.
  • Represent bank in the community through involvement in various civic and charitable activities.
  • Assure compliance with banks policies and procedures.
  • Train, coach and motivate staff to understand banks product offerings, help customers, provide commendable service and ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Provide clients with appropriate bank products and services to meet client needs.
  • Achieve fluency in small business product offerings and cross sell products (merchant services, credit card, cash management and payroll) to improve skill level, acquisition and cross-sell.
  • Ensure completion of all branch administrative functions.
  • Build strong internal/external relationship through ownership of problem solving and follow through
  • Hold daily, weekly monthly branch huddles/meetings for briefings and debriefings.
  • Identify staff training and development needs.
  • Set annual personal performance plan/goals and weekly sales plan/goals for the branch staff.
  • Work as a team with Business Development and Lending partners to achieve business relationship development and growth goals and objective.
  • Encourage active team involvement in community events
  • Must have NYS Notary Stamp or able to obtain one in 120 days.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for managing all branch functions and staff.Observe, evaluate performance, coach and performance manage the entire branch team in a timely efficient manner.Effectively hold individuals and team accountable to achievement of their sales, service and operations goals.Responsible for overall communication with the team to ensure that clear and consistent information is relayed to staff on a timely basis.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily.The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEMinimum of 10+ years of relevant branch management experience in consumer, business banking or retail services.Bachelors Degree preferred.
    SKILLSPosition requires good communication skills and an acute attention to detail.Prior customer service, supervisory and sales experience along with strong verbal and written communication skills are preferable as the incumbent must cross-sell Bank products and services through customer referrals to platform areas and manage supporting staff.Incumbent must be capable of analytical problem solving and task completion.Time management, leadership, coaching, relationship and mentoring skills are a must.The ability to build new customer relationships and a strong sense of integrity and personal ethics is essential.Ability to cold call on prospective customers.TECHNOLOGY SKILLSBasic PC experience, MS Word and Excel
