Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Scientist to lead and advance the suspension cell culture operations within our US Protein Department. This role involves overseeing complex cell line cultivation processes, optimizing production workflows, and mentoring junior scientists to ensure the delivery of high-quality biologics. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in cell biology or biotechnology, demonstrated leadership abilities, and a strong track record in a laboratory or biomanufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage suspension cell culture operations, ensuring adherence to protocols while driving improvements in process efficiency, yield, and quality. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges in cell culture processes, working cross-functionally to minimize production disruptions. Design, execute, and analyze experiments to optimize cell line performance and bioprocess parameters. Maintain comprehensive documentation, including experimental data, batch records, and technical reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards. Provide mentorship, training, and guidance to associate scientists and technical staff, fostering professional development and technical excellence. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review and update SOPs, protocols, and production records, promoting continuous improvement and data integrity. Lead special projects and initiatives as assigned by department leadership, contributing to strategic planning and innovation. Qualifications: Master’s degree or Ph.D. in cell biology, biotechnology, or a related scientific discipline. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in suspension cell culture or bioprocess development, preferably within a CRO, CDMO, or biopharmaceutical environment. Proven leadership and project management skills with the ability to mentor and develop junior staff. Strong problem-solving abilities with a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and optimizing cell culture processes. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of collaborating across teams and presenting complex data effectively. Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory data documentation systems, quality standards, and regulatory compliance. Highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
