At Materion, everyone is included, respected and offered opportunity to grow. _Join us!_ The Facilities Manager will lead a team of skilled technicians and support staff while establishing and maintaining the processes, procedures, tasks, and standards necessary to execute all facets of facility operations and project management. This will include the design, management, and execution of projects and initiatives on a regular basis as required by overall facility needs and on-site business units.If you enjoy rolling your sleeves up and using your knowledge and contagious enthusiasm to influence others toward positive change, then this role is for you! Help us develop our culture of operational excellence, mature our work processes and utilization of key management systems, drive continuous improvements across our facility, and support game-changing projects associated with our organization.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Lead a team of facilities technicians and support staff in all aspects of facility-wide operations and improvement initiatives. Ensure and drive accountability for safe work and safe practices throughout facility. Initiate and execute productivity ideas, efficiency & reliability improvements, and capital projects. Develop and mature a culture of operational excellence and safe, reliable, and secure facility operations including contingency planning and preparations, critical spares identification and inventorying, and reliability improvement efforts. Meet the needs of ever-changing, cutting-edge research & development as well as manufacturing activities. Develops long range plans, conceptual designs, and capitaloutlay requirements and documentation for facility. Partner with and foster positive relationships among outside contractors, vendors, and engineering support resources. Acts as liaison to public utility, environmental, and energy agencies Challenge existing norms and standard processes. Develop a culture of proactive / predictive maintenance versus reactive repairs and system downtime. Create and track metrics to define progress towards implementation of improvements efforts. Budget and manage facilities related / maintenance costs and spending. Plan, budget and schedule facilities modifications including cost estimates, bid sheets, layouts and contracts for construction and acquisitions. Formulate and coordinate program specifications, requirements for proposals, and contracts and associated documents. Education - Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent military training / education preferred. Experience - Describe experience required and preferred, including years of experience. Experience can include types of work, prolonged schooling, environments or situations/settings. 5+ years of experience of facilities / maintenance management required (10+ years preferred). Project management / project engineering experience required. Experience with a variety of facility-wide support utilities and equipment (HVAC systems, chillers, water treatment systems, electrical infrastructure and backup systems, control and monitoring systems, etc). Familiarity with ISO 9001/14001/45001 environments preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Certified Facilities Manager (CFM) certification a plus. Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office applications required. SAP experience is a plus. Management of a diverse and complex facility-wide budget and associated accounting practices. Required: Strong ability to influence others and drive change. Ability and willingness to participate first-hand in improvement activities while also leading others in these improvements. Preferred: A background in metals processing operations such as vacuum casting, powder metallurgy, and machining highly desired. Supervisory experience preferred. Ability and drive to challenge existing norms and standard processes.
