At our facilities in Yorktown Heights, NY, and Patterson, NY, we breed, raise, and train exceptional dogs. Then we connect them to people who are seeking increased freedom and independence, so that together, they can experience all kinds of life adventures.

Position Overview: This IT professional will work with the Database Manager, project team members and internal & external stakeholders to gather and document business requirements, design, program, and deploy business applications in Salesforce. This is a cross functional, hands-on role acting as part of a small IT team within Guiding Eyes for the Blind with no direct reports. The candidate must be able to work both independently and with Salesforce Implementation partners on multiple projects producing deliverables within agreed upon timelines exceeding stakeholders' stated requirements.
Position Essential Functions:
Develop an understanding of key Guiding Eyes business processes while developing relationships with stakeholders that foster confidence and effective communications and gain commitment for shared projects.
Develop, configure, and implement new Salesforce functionality as well as changes, customizations, and integration with other systems to meet changing business needs.
Support the production Salesforce environment. This includes:
Ensuring production issues are identified, tracked, communicated, and resolved in a timely manner.
Understanding and supporting security role maintenance, namely role hierarchy, security profiles and access rights.
Creating and managing complex flows, workflow rules, data validation, and system triggers.
Evaluating AppExchange tools for feasibility and impact to the business.
Leveraging standard Salesforce functionality and processing tools as much as possible and using custom programming only when needed.
Document business and technical specifications/documentation as needed.
Support unit testing and integration testing during implementation.
Prepare materials to train end users to effectively use newly implemented Salesforce functionality.
Manage data, including mapping and integrating data from existing applications, cleansing data, handling data exceptions, proactively identifying and correcting data gaps and issues and loading to or extracting data from the Salesforce database as needed.
Monitor and troubleshoot daily, weekly, and monthly data imports and exports to various Direct Marketing vendors.
Qualifications:
Experience working with business applications, project support and data analysis.
Must have excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
Experience with Salesforce applications, administering Salesforce, or coding in Apex, VisualForce or other supported languages. Salesforce certification desirable.
Must maintain a thorough and up to date knowledge of Salesforce standard functionality as the technology subject matter expert regarding best practices for Salesforce. Knowledge of Salesforce NPSP a plus.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), MS 365, and Visio.
Knowledge of process and project management practices and tools.
Bachelor's Degree in IT or equivalent work experience.
Salesforce certification completed, or in-progress preferred.
Available to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends.
Must be comfortable around large, active dogs.
Must be legally able to work in the US. Company does not provide visa sponsorships.

Proof of Covid-19 Vaccination Status
Guiding Eyes requires all new hires to be fully vaccinated for at least two weeks before commencing work unless they meet a legally required exemption. New hires are required to present proof of their vaccinated status, such as their CDC Covid-19 Vaccination Record Card or an official immunization record from the jurisdiction, state, or country where the vaccine was administered; or a New York State Excelsior Pass, or a New York City COVID Safe Pass.
