In this role you will:
The Peer Worker will work with the team to provide community-based
support with a rehabilitation and recovery focus using shared lived
experiences in NYS OASAS regulated programs and/or other related
settings such as Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS). In
addition, the Peer Worker will work as a fully integrated team
member providing individual face to face services in the client's
home or community as specified in the service protocols. This work
is carried out in support of the mission and goals of Samaritan
Daytop Village
What qualifications do you need:
Must have either a Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA),
CRPA-Provisional, CARC or Recovery Coach certificate (30
hours).
High School diploma or GED.
At least 1-2 years' work experience or volunteer experience in a
recovery-oriented setting strongly preferred.
Knowledge of substance use disorder recovery process.
Computer literacy including familiarity in Microsoft Office
Suite.
Must be available to travel throughout the required catchment area
as needed for applicable programs and able to navigate the public
transportation systems to client's home and within the
community.
Commitment to recovery-oriented systems of care.
Demonstrate ability to work independently.
Excellent time management.
Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic
and socioeconomic backgrounds.
*Additional Salary Details: The salary range and/or hourly rate
advertised is a good faith estimate of compensation that may be
offered to a potential candidate. The rate of pay is determined by
several factors such as education, years of relevant experience,
division, location, specialty, funding source, and credentials.
