Job Description:
Nuvance Health has a network of convenient hospital and
outpatient locations - Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital,
Norwalk Hospital and Sharon Hospital in Connecticut, and Northern
Dutchess Hospital, Putnam Hospital Center and Vassar Brothers
Medical Center in New York - plus multiple primary and specialty
care physician practices locations, including The Heart Center, a
leading provider of cardiology care, and two urgent care offices.
Non-acute care is offered through various affiliates, including the
Thompson House for rehabilitation and skilled nursing services, and
the Home Care organizations.
Summary:
Maintains a presence in first impressions areas greeting the public
with strong guest relations skills and providing information where
necessary to ensure compliance of hospital visitor policy and
promote a positive guest relations environment as defined in the
philosophy of Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Sets the standard for
system-wide guest services.
Responsibilities:
1. Greets all guests entering lobby with a sincere greeting,
exhibiting proper guest relations skills at all times.
2. Directs guests cheerfully to Information Desk for a pass.
3. Explains visitor policy tactfully, when required to. Makes
reasonable attempts to enforce various unit-specific visiting
policy, contacting units on a case-by-case basis.
4. Enforces HIPPA procedures/protocol and confirms patients' wishes
with regards to privacy when necessary.
5. Makes reasonable attempt to prevent anyone who has not been
cleared from bypassing Information Desk.
6. Notifies Security immediately upon noticing any suspicious
person or behavior, accident or circumstance that may cause damage
or injury. Enforces restrictions, alerting security when restricted
individuals attempt access.
7. Enforces hospital Non-Soliciting Policy at all times.
8. Uses appropriate judgment at all times where applying hospital
policy to varying circumstances
9. Ensures that at least five wheel chairs are available in the
Lobby at all times.
Other information:
Required: Requires high school diploma or equivalent; general
knowledge of high school subject matter possibly including
sciences, simple medical procedures or terminology or office
equipment.
Minimum of 6-12 months of experience in a Customer Service/Guest
Service/Receptionist position.
