Position: Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Brewster, NY.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The manufacturing engineer is responsible and focused on
developing, implementing, and maintaining products at Lamothermic.
On a daily basis, they strive to decrease manufacturing costs,
improve quality, and improve overall casting yield, while
maintaining customer requirements. The manufacturing engineer also
develops and implements new processes that drive continuous
improvement company wide.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Be an information resource for customer inquiries on investment
casting product/process
Development and design of wax pattern tooling, rapid prototypes and
fixtures.
Review customer contracts.
Routinely develop new process improvements and perform root cause
analysis.
Monitor work in process for problems and potential problems.
Create, implement, monitor and maintain process control procedures
throughout the plant.
Initiate corrective action to resolve current and prevent future
problems.
Engineering Change Order (ECO) implementation.
Photo documentation.
Collaborate with sales to develop new parts.
Interface with production to help meet production goal via
product/process improvement.
Interface with maintenance to improve machine and other system
operation.
Travel to customer locations to resolve customer concerns. (Travel
up to 5%)
Create and maintain production bill of materials/operations.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Foundational knowledge of CAD modeling using Solidworks.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
Strong and diligent work ethic and willingness to get involved.
Experience in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to read and analyze drawings. GD&T knowledge a
plus.
Proficient in measurement equipment.
Foundational knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Mechanical aptitude.
Interpret industry specifications.
Ability to interface with customers to define requirements and
resolve concerns.
Knowledge of heat-treating a plus.
Experience in ERP systems. Experience in Epicor a plus.
3D Printing knowledge a plus.
Education and Experience:
Bachelors or higher in Engineering Required (Manufacturing,
Mechanical, Metallurgical, Materials)
7+ years of experience in manufacturing.
