Job Description:
Nuvance Health has a network of convenient hospital and
outpatient locations - Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital,
Norwalk Hospital and Sharon Hospital in Connecticut, and Northern
Dutchess Hospital, Putnam Hospital Center and Vassar Brothers
Medical Center in New York - plus multiple primary and specialty
care physician practices locations, including The Heart Center, a
leading provider of cardiology care, and two urgent care offices. -
Non-acute care is offered through various affiliates, including the
Thompson House for rehabilitation and skilled nursing services, and
the Home Care organizations. Summary:Supports the administrative
and information system needs of the HIS department and management
staff at both DH and NMH. Responsible for data analysis,
maintenance of key demographic data and the merging medical record
numbers in various master patient indexes (MPI) and enterprise-wide
(EMPI) system. Coordinates the processes used to ensure that
accurate patient information is exchanged between all entity host
and ancillary information systems. This position also acts as the
department trainer for various information systems and departmental
processes. Responsibilities:1. Coordinates duplicate MPI data clean
up activities on Invision, Soarian Scheduling, OMR and other
systems as determined and works closely with all ancillary system
MPI contacts. Carefully corrects duplicate or inaccurate data as
appropriate in various systems. 2. Coordinates the linking of
patients from various health system entities and maintains related
patient demographic data in the EMPI system. Runs system reports to
facilitate data integrity efforts.3. Coordinates the monitoring and
communication activities associated with the MediBase and EMPI
systems.4. Coordinates all daily transcription monitoring
activities, works closely with vendor and physicians to correct
errors and trouble shoot various problems. Assists SoftMed System
Administrator in testing and issues resolution.5. Coordinates
daily/weekly delinquent record data collection, physician
communication and related documentation.6. Trains new physician on
electronic signature and chart completion tasks and general use of
the Siemens OMR.7. Trains new HIS staff and holds in-service
refresher sessions for current staff on ChartScript import,
interface monitoring, transfer discharge summary processes.
Monitors all SoftMed system interfaces and ensures connectivity.8.
Performs on-line analysis for both IP/OP medical records for
missing signature and dictation deficiency per HIS policy.9.
Maintains current analysis guidelines documentation and mentors HIM
Tech staff in deficiency analysis.10. Maintains SoftMed Provider
ID, OMR and dictation system provider databases.11. Completes
required system documentation for weekly payroll and works with
staff on punch exceptions.12. Orders department supplies, completes
various purchase requisitions and supports the online contract
process.13. Compiles data from multiple sources, creates meeting
documents and minutes for the HIMB Committee.14. Fulfills all
compliance responsibilities related to the position.15. Performs
other duties as assigned.16. Provides 24/7 support through
investigation & analysis of problems using documentation, manuals,
debugging tools & logic to resolve problems, prevent recurrence &
ensure continuity. Takes remote call for off-shift, weekends &
holidays as assigned.Other information:Required: Proficient in MS
Windows, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Strong customer service,
verbal and communication skills. Knowledge of various hospital and
HIM department information systems including Soarian, OMR,
Invision, Ancillary System EMR's and MPI duplicate management
systems. Experience and ability to trouble shoot problems with
various software applications and interfaces. Minimum Experience:
three years Desired: Knowledge of medical terminology and various
