PAY RATE: $30.00/hourHOURS: 3:00 pm-6:00 pm, Monday, Thursday, Friday- January 2022 StartLOCATION: North Park Elementary Hyde Park School District 1593 NY-9G, Hyde Park, NY 12538REPORTS TO: 21st Century Program DirectorJOB DATES: Follows School District CalendarJOB STATUS: Part Time, Non-ExemptJOB SUMMARYLiteracy Coaches will lead a literacy program for groups of 10-20 after-school students in fun, engaging literacy instruction and activities. Program typically runs for 22 days each term. Dates may be extended for school cancellations.They will have a special charisma and passion for teaching literacy that enables them to connect with students. Motivating them to excel in literacy, in their educational path and generally create that "I can do it"-- - attitude.JOB CONSISTS OF Providing warm and nurturing virtual environment for children during the hours of operationEnsure that program complies with Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies and host school policies.Create and direct daily activities and instruction through weekly lesson plans and schedule.Perform management functions to include accurate/neat records, accurate/neat learning materials and files of students. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEExperience and expertise in LiteracyELA training and/or a teaching certificateBachelor's Degree (or higher) in Elementary Education, with NYS Cert.Must pass full background check including fingerprinting and reference checking.21 years or older.QUALIFICATIONSProof of education and/or training. This includes official transcripts/certificates.Fingerprints/Background Check through the NYS Central Registry.Two written references verified by the Program director and OCFSA physical exam/results of a TB test signed by a medical professional.A completed criminal history review statement.A complete Healthy Kids Extended Day Program Employment Application and resume.All required, on-going training to accumulate 15 hours of training per year.Warm, friendly, caring and upbeat personality.Excellent people skills in dealing with children, parents and staff.Professional, reliable and prompt.Loves working with childrenEQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYMENT"Healthy Kid Programs is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
