Administers and supports enterprise-wide network environment. Works with others on application of wide area network (WAN), local area network (LAN) systems and principles to support business goals.


  1. Supports enterprise-wide network & systems integration. Resource optimization through performance of network assignments, correcting network problems & supports assigned projects. Ensures application of infrastructure quality standards.

  2. Maintains high network reliability and availability in assigned area through utilization of network management tools (such as HP Open View & Optivity), other infrastructure management/monitoring tools & IT industry standards (such as SNMP).

  3. Supports network stability and integrity in assigned area through security administration & monitoring & adherence to & effective use of change management.

  4. Supports Information Technology knowledge management through documenting and maintain network standards, processes & practices as assigned.

  5. Performs additional network responsibilities (such as backups and printer support) & other duties (such as server installation & application installation & support) as assigned.

  6. Provides support & maintenance by responding to service requests. Events logged in departmental problem management & reporting system. Maintains contact with customers. Troubleshoots & corrects network problems. Seeks technical assistance when required.

  7. Supports team efforts in the effective application of network strategies in assigned area by exhibiting effective communication skills, technical knowledge and proactive approach. Meets established milestone & schedules.

  8. Enhances professional and technical knowledge in network technologies, topologies & protocols through learning events (such as attendance at formal training programs & self-education).

  9. Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.

  10. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.

  11. Performs other duties as assigned.

  12. Provides 24/7 support through investigation & analysis of problems using documentation, manuals, debugging tools & logic to resolve problems, prevent recurrence & ensure continuity. Takes remote call for off-shift, weekends & holidays as assigned.

Other information:

Required: Must have a current driver's license and access to a vehicle to support off-site locations.

Minimum Experience: one year

Desired: Degree in Computer Science preferred. Skills: TCP/IP, Ethernet, NT, Security, Analytical Thinking, Problem Determination, Documentation, Teamwork.
