Summary / Primary Role : The Payroll Associate will assist in the administration of the time and attendance system and payroll function. The primary role includes timely and accurate delivery of biweekly and weekly payroll including produce, balance and distribute payroll as well as related client service, including recordkeeping and reporting. This position provides payroll support and project management support to the Payroll Department. This position can be remote. Principal Duties and Responsibilities : (Management may amend or assign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time) First point of contact for employees for time and attendance and payroll. Ensure data accuracy, integrity and timeliness of payroll processing including taxes and W-2's for all U.S. based employees. Compute wage and overtime payments, calculate payroll deductions Must understand payroll compliance such as FLSA as well as state and local laws Update and maintain payroll backup files regarding the tracking of raises, promotions, lateral moves, etc. within payroll system Coordinates and assists with 401k, worker's compensation and internal payroll control audits Prepare payroll reports for multiple payroll periods and enter all applicable changes in system Verify 401k transaction reports against employee record Complete wage verifications Accurate and timely filing of monthly, quarterly, annual work comp reports and other requested reports Answer payroll and tax questions for associates Support the general accounting area in preparation of necessary reports and account reconciliations Keeps HR abreast of overall changes affecting payroll including federal and state guidelines. Participate in payroll auditing and balancing processes. Must possess high level of confidentiality Other tasks as requested. Qualifications and Key Skills: (The following are representative of the education, experience, knowledge, skills or ability required for this position) Bachelor's degree (preference for concentration in Human Resources or Business Management) or equivalent combination of education and experience FPC or CPP certification, preferred 5 years of payroll experience in a high-volume, fast-paced corporate environment Experience with Dayforce, preferred. Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines Capacity to work under pressure Proficient in using office equipment Ability to troubleshoot and solve issues Proficient in Microsoft Windows XP Professional and Microsoft Office Products: Word, Excel and Outlook. Must be able to use Vlookup and Pivot tables. Ability to work well with all levels of management and staff, as well as outside clients and partners. Professional demeanor with a high level of maturity, discretion and adherence to confidentiality. Requires effective oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent planning and organizational skills, ability to prioritize, use time efficiently and develop realistic action plans. Service and detail oriented. Committed work ethic with ability to work independently, multi-task and manage time effectively. Quick learner with a high degree of initiative. Ability to adapt and change in the work environment. Able to deal with frequent change, manage competing demands or deal with unexpected events. Dependable and able to follow instructions and respond to management direction. Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and gather and analyze information skillfully.
