Job Description:

Under the direction of the Food Service Director, the Food Service Director Assistant is responsible for the overall coordination of the Dietary Department at Meadows and The Terraces.

The candidate possesses in-depth knowledge of nutrition and food services, develops and implements menus that meet individual nutritional needs in accordance with established national guidelines. Provides nourishing food to residents, guests, and employees under sanitary conditions, as directed, and in accordance with established policies and procedures, and federal and state regulations that are related to effective food and nutrition services.

Candidate is to assist and support the Food Service Director. Our ideal Assistant Food Service Director candidate will have experience in culinary, production and administrative tasks. Experienced in managing a food service team along with exceptional client relations and customer satisfaction skills.

*Essential duties and responsibilities include but not limited to: *

* Assist and support the Food Service Director with daily operations.
* Oversee inventory and ordering for the food & nutrition department.
* Ensure team executes production procedures, recipes, and therapeutic diets
* Assist in resident meal tickets, Meal Tracker experience a plus.
* Oversee the staffing schedule.
* Ensure team adhere to all sanitation and HACCP procedures.
* Knowledge of local, state, and federal
* Regulatory Compliance
* Assist in all staff training and in-services.
* Other duties as assigned.

*Preferred Education and Experience*

* Experience cooking in a long-term care or similar healthcare facility.

*Additional Eligibility Qualifications*

Communicates effectively, both orally-and in writing. Carries out detailed written or verbal instructions. Makes mature judgements, functions independently, is flexible, has personal integrity and works effectively with staff, residents, personnel, and guests. Must have initiative and judgement in assigning tasks, delegating responsibility, and resolving operational problems. Must be able to handle and manage stress and stressful situations. Able to organize time effectively and prioritize task to ensure dining room situations are effectively dealt with.
