Job Description Pride Health is hiring a Tumor Registrar to support our client’s medical facility based in Hicksville, NY 11801. This is an 8-week assignment with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization! Job Title: Tumor Registrar Location: Hicksville, NY 11801 W2 Pay (Local) : $40/hr - $45/hr Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM Start date: 03/30/2026 Role Overview: This is a Tumor Registrar position responsible for both cancer registry data management and registrar/front-end administrative duties. The role ensures complete and accurate cancer data collection in compliance with ACoS/CoC and NYS Department of Health guidelines, while also supporting patient registration and department business functions. Primary Responsibilities: Identify and accession cancer cases using pathology, radiology, and oncology reports Abstract and enter required clinical data into registry software (METRIQ) Apply ICD-O coding, AJCC staging, and SEER guidelines Conduct annual follow-up of living cancer patients Maintain confidentiality and data security Prepare tumor registry reports and assist with Cancer Committee activities Support ACoS/CoC survey preparation and performance improvement initiatives Patient registration and demographic/insurance verification Update financial and emergency contact information Generate and review patient charts for completion Answer phones, greet patients/visitors, and provide directions Schedule appointments and obtain consent signatures Maintain logs, reconcile records, and file/retrieve charts Process laboratory specimens per policy Transport patients when required Support department operations and maintain a safe, organized environment Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) – Required 2 years of cancer registry experience Strong medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology knowledge Familiarity with ACoS/CoC and NYS DOH Cancer Registry guidelines Proficiency in METRIQ and hospital computer systems Pride Global offers eligible employee’s comprehensive healthcare coverage (medical, dental, and vision plans), supplemental coverage (accident insurance, critical illness insurance, and hospital indemnity), 401(k)-retirement savings, life & disability insurance, an employee assistance program, legal support, auto, home insurance, pet insurance, and employee discounts with preferred vendors.
