Job Description Job Description /n Under direction and supervision of Registered Nurse, assists patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADL’s) and behavioral coping skills, provides clinical intervention, and assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment. /n Job Responsibility /n /n /n - Prepares patient for examination. /n - Explains procedure in layman terms to relieve patient of anxiety. /n - Ensures patient is screened according to protocol, and assures consent for the procedure has been obtained, when necessary. /n - Positions patient on examination table for optimum testing procedure and conditions. /n - Performs nuclear and nuclear cardiology procedures as prescribed by ordering physician.Sets-up equipment to administer prescribed procedure in timely fashion. /n - Calculates, prepares and dispenses radiopharmaceuticals to patient. Documents radiopharmaceuticals dispensed. /n - Monitors patient condition during examination, recognizing and reporting abnormal changes. /n - Obtains images of anatomical area of interest, utilizing proper techniques to ensure appropriate views are captured. /n - Collects all pertinent data and calculations for physician interpretation. /n - May determines need for more extensive evaluations beyond preliminary instructions. /n - Acknowledges and reviews images in computer system. Ensures accuracy of all patient data. Processes imaging and prints CDs, as required. /n - Gathers previous related patient reports, as required. /n - Performs regular maintenance and calibration of Nuclear Medicine apparatus and auxiliary equipment. /n - Adheres to Infection Control guidelines in the performance of duties. Maintains cleanliness of work area, equipment and accessories. /n - Performs related duties as required. /n /n Job Qualification /n /n /n - Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine program, required. /n - Current New York State Department of Health licensure as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, required. /n - R.T. (N) registration with American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) OR CNMT registration with /n - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB), required. /n - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, required. /n - Prior Nuclear Medicine experience, preferred. /n - Ability to communicate effectively, required /n /n *Additional Salary Detail /n The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.When determining a team member's base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).
