opportunity to join our team as an APP Program Director for
Transplant and Cellular Therapy (BMT.) In this role, the successful
candidate directs the functions of setting objectives, staffing,
and coordinating the clinical operational activities for the
Perlmutter Cancer Center (PCC) Advanced Practice Provider (APP)
teams across multiple disease management groups (DMG) and/or
multiple locations; identifies, implements, and delivers clinical
process improvement pertinent to patient population, design,
implement and monitor resource utilization initiatives; provides
clinical oversight, and evaluation of performance; supports
interdisciplinary collaboration with other members of the care
team. Job Responsibilities: I. CLINICAL 1. Articulates principles
of clinical care management and clinical process improvement in
terms understandable to entry through expert level of advanced
practice providers. 2. Utilizes evidence-based approaches to
develop, maintain and evaluate clinical care that supports the
delivery of safe, effective and efficient patient care. 3. Makes
recommendations and supports effective and efficient care delivery
systems. 4. Develops, promulgates, and fosters the implementation
of process and outcome standards involving clinical pathways,
interdisciplinary protocols, and order sets that meet clinical care
objectives and appropriate resource utilization. 5. Works
collaboratively with DMG leads, collaborating physicians, nursing,
and other departments to achieve mutually defined goals. 6. Guides
advanced practitioners in addressing patient care and patient flow
issues as they pertain to clinical care coordination. 7. Provides
clinical leadership to advanced practice providers in assessing,
implementing and evaluating the care provided to patients. 8.
Supports adherence to individually approved delineation of
privileges and required competencies. 9. Facilitates the
utilization of reimbursement programs for the care delivered by
advanced practitioners. 10. Assists with educating advanced
practitioners on the issues and impact of hospital denials for
medical necessity. 11. Assists in the design and implementation of
processes that facilitate age appropriate, culturally sensitive and
ethical care for patients. 12. Demonstrates and enhances others'
understanding of patient care standards as integral and supportive
of professional practice. II. LEADERSHIP/COORDINATION 1.
Demonstrates visibility, accessibility and effective communication
that conveys a strong sense of advocacy and support for staff and
leadership. 2. Supports the mission, philosophy, standards, goals
and objectives of the institution, and the departments of nursing.
3. Facilitates advanced practice provider activities related to
clinical care management. 4. Contributes to the development of the
APP financial plan; monitors and evaluates outcomes, making
modifications as indicated; assesses recruitment and retention
needs, conducts interviews and monitors the use of resources at the
DMG level. 5. Establishes accountability while providing support
and guidance for role advancement and professional development. 7.
Hires, orients, develops and evaluates APPs from orientation
through termination according to established standards. 8.
Participates in relevant committees and projects, including the
Advanced Practice Provider Council, Service Line Teams, Recruitment
and Retention Council, Patient Family Education council and others
as indicated. 9. Demonstrates understanding of the value of
professional nursing, the conceptual framework in which it is
practiced, and the features of an organization that attracts and
retains advanced practice providers. 10. Role models service
standards in actions and communications with patients, families,
and staff and other disciplines. 11. Functions as a respectful
leader of the health care team who demonstrates HRO principles.
III. EDUCATION/DEVELOPMENT 1. Facilitates an environment of
learning that supports patient safety and professional practice. 2.
Supports participation of advanced practice providers in activities
and educational programs that promote learning and professional
development. 3. Establishes individualized orientation, precepting,
and mentoring programs that assist the novice to the expert to
transition to competent, effective performance. 4. Maintains
clinical and leadership competency by participating in continuing
education professional organizations and other related activities
5. Works collaboratively with clinical, educational resources and
other experts to plan and implement educational offerings for staff
and leadership. IV. EVALUATION OF OUTCOMES / RESEARCH 1. Obtains
and utilizes data from a variety of sources including internal and
external benchmarking, research findings and outcomes data to
enhance programs supporting patient care and improve patient
outcomes. 2 Participates in development and implementation of
quality and performance improvement initiatives of the program. 3.
Recommends program changes based on current literature, research,
and evidence based practice findings. 4 Participates in and fosters
staff involvement in evidence-based practice, clinical studies, and
research pertinent to their specific patient populations. 5.
Evaluates own performance based on professional practice standards,
and criteria established by accrediting/regulatory agencies. 6.
Participates in establishing methodology and processes for clinical
peer review. 7. Participates in evaluating care delivery outcomes,
and development of improvement plans. 8. Participates in the
evaluation of nursing and interdisciplinary outcome standards,
including revisions as indicated 9. Systematically evaluates the
quality and effectiveness of advanced practice provider programs.
Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have: - Masters or
Doctorate degree in nursing or related field required. - Licensed
Registered Professional Nurse in NY State with current
registration. - Registered Nurse Practitioner in NY state. - Board
Certification in Advanced Practice Nursing. - Minimum of 5 years of
clinical NP practice; - Minimum of 3 years of progressive
leadership experience in an APP manager/leadership position. -
Experience with data management, analysis, presentation, and
computerized information systems is essential. - Excellent verbal
communication, interpersonal and team building skills;
self-directed, creative, risk-taker, understanding of change
management, professional practice, and current issues and trends in
APP practice, service line delivery and health care in general. -
Physical stamina, manual dexterity, visual and aural acuity to
perform responsibilities Required Licenses: Registered Nurse
License-NYS, Nurse Practitioner-NYS Qualified candidates must be

Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role
is $200,000.00 - $248,316.76 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a
variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and
