Job Description:
Albany Medical Center, a leading healthcare system combining a
top-tier hospital with a state-of-the-art medical college, is
seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse II for our D2N Cardiopulmonary
Surgery & Vascular ICU. This critical role requires a compassionate
and experienced nurse to provide specialized care to patients
undergoing cardiopulmonary and vascular surgeries. This position
offers a unique opportunity to work within an innovative

research, and comprehensive patient care. As a Clinical Nurse II,
you will play a pivotal role in patient recovery and outcomes in a
challenging yet rewarding ICU setting. Provide direct and
comprehensive nursing care to cardiopulmonary and vascular surgery
patients in the ICU. Monitor patient vital signs, assess condition
changes, and respond with appropriate interventions. Collaborate
with a multidisciplinary team to plan, implement, and evaluate
patient care plans. Administer medications and treatments as
prescribed and monitor responses. Document patient care services by
charting in patient and department records. Educate patients and
their families on post-operative care and health maintenance.
Participate in clinical research opportunities and contribute to
nursing best-practices. Advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS)
skills Proficiency in operating ICU monitoring equipment Strong
clinical skills in post-surgical care and emergency response
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work
effectively in high-pressure environments Valid RN license in the
state of New York Certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN)
