Sterile Processing Tech Location: Bethpage, NY Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,520 per week Shift Information: Nights - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 8 Weeks Start Date: 2/2/2026 About the Position Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician Profession: Technologist/Technician Specialty: Sterile Processing Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 7.5 Experience: - Minimum of two years of certified experience, or one year of certified experience plus four years of related experience. License: - Sterile processing certification (CRCST or CSPD) must not expire during the term of assignment. Certifications: - High school diploma or equivalent required. Must-Have: - Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds. - Manual dexterity with the ability to stand, bend, lift, and/or reach for extended periods. - Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Description: - This is a large, busy sterile processing facility providing reprocessing services for multiple healthcare facilities. - The technician will be required to work every other weekend. - Responsibilities include disassembling, cleaning, sterilizing, reassembling, and packaging sterile supplies according to specifications and manufacturer instructions. - The technician will operate washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic machines, steam sterilizers, heat sealers, and additional equipment during sterilization procedures. - Adherence to instrument count sheets for surgical sets and case carts is necessary. - The technician will retrieve used trays and instruments from various areas for decontamination. - Examination of instruments and patient care equipment for cleanliness, proper assembly, and functionality is required. - Identification of malfunctioning items and notification of a supervisor or biomedical engineer is necessary. - Assisting in ordering, stocking, and maintaining department inventory levels is part of the role. - The technician must perform required duties to maintain a contaminant-free work environment. - Scrubs will be provided and must be laundered at the facility. - Personal items such as shoes, jewelry, hair, and beard must be kept covered. - Nail polish is not permitted.
