Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is seeking a Medical Gas Technician to join our team located in Danbury, CT. The Medical Gas Technician will be responsible for Medical gas technicians are responsible for testing, inspecting, and repairing the medical gas & vacuum systems used to provide medical gases and vacuum to patients in hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare facilities. The Medical Gas Technician will assist other team members as well as work independently.Medical Gas Technician--- Perform specialized technical tasks including; inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of the medical gas & vacuum system. Complete periodic inspections and compliance testing as required.--- Stays current with all applicable medical gas and vacuum compliance local, state and national codes such as NFPA 99.--- Maintain appropriate documentation and maintenance/repair records to ensure compliance. --- Responsible for the required compliance and documentation for local, state and national agencies including The Joint Commission for all medical gas and vacuum systems.--- Verification that all valves and alarms are working and labeled appropriately.--- Consult with equipment manufacturers for technical assistance.--- Research Manufacture sites, equipment manuals and online resources to obtain required replacement parts. --- Advise healthcare facilities of general condition of equipment and systems and any unusual problems or concerns that may arise; make recommendations for improvements and upgrades for Facility budget planning; compile and present data to support recommendations.--- Provide technical assistance, instruction, training and consultation to hospital staff members for the resolution of special problems.--- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein. The above statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this classification. This is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and duties required of personnel so classified.--- Work requires an educational background normally equivalent to a high school education with course work in skilled crafts.--- Required Certification ASSE 6000 or ability to complete the required course and pass the exam for this certification within 12-24 months of hire.--- Associate degree in Facility Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field is desirable.--- OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE--- Experience Preferred - Minimum of two years' maintenance and repair experience related to medical gas or plumbing systems or four years of trades (mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, biomed, )experience with at least one year related experience.--- Valid state Driver's license is required.Linde is a leading global industrial gases and engineering company with 2022 sales of $33 billion.
