Job DescriptionThe PositionThe Global Medical Services Lead is responsible for the creation, management and oversight of the medical service strategy as well as the oversight and deployment of personnel across countries and cluster units. The Global Medical Services Lead will accomplish this in collaboration with country/cluster medical leads. The Global Medical Services Lead has deep knowledge across all areas of Medical Services. This position reports into the Associate Vice President, International Medical Affairs Lead.Responsibilities
- Manage and lead the global medical services team which includes medical reviewers, medical services, medical education, innovation and digital strategy.
- Oversee the team of medical reviewers to ensure the completion and accuracy of all medical materials used globally, ensuring compliance to all company policies and regulations prior to public release.
- Oversee the adaptation and adoption of core medical content for use in local markets.
- Provide compliance leadership and training to country staff, as needed.
- Support the DPOC/Medical Information team, ensuring that all processes meet the highest standards.
- Formulate drafts of procedural guidance documents, SOPs, or process charts, as needed, for a region.
- Develop centralized mechanisms and harmonized business processes, and support or lead projects aimed at increasing quality and/or efficiencies.
- Represent the regions as key contact with HQ, vendor management, procurement, etc., and assist country/cluster leads with these processes, as needed.
- Drive and track prioritized regional activities, collaboration, and reporting.
- Seek and drive regional or local innovation opportunities (external or internal).
- Lead or participate in other projects, as identified.
- Develop and execute team skill and professional growth
plans.Required Education, Experience and Skills
- Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, NP, PA). Equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience may be considered
- Ten plus years of experience in medical services, medical information, medical communications, field medical, or a related field within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
- Development or delivery of scientific content and training for the purpose of scientific exchange with external customers.
- Experience with Medical and Legal Review (MLR) processes and supporting systems.
- Successful record of creating and managing complex project plans, timelines, budgets and critical paths.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative, team-oriented cross functional structure.
- Demonstrated scientific writing/verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to translate strategy into action plans.
- Proven ability for solid networking, prioritization, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Organizational and prioritization skills.
- Multi-tasking and problem-solving skills (solution-driven).
- Must be able to work in a complex organization environment and
have ability to effectively operate in a global and team-oriented
structure.Travel: Ability to travel up to 50% domestically and
