The Senior Manager of Corporate Continuous Improvement will play a critical role as we continue to drive operational excellence throughout all areas of our business. This position's primary responsibility will be to support the corporate continuous improvement strategy and lead project teams throughout all business locations, including Danbury, CT, Westlake Village, CA, and Marlborough, MA, ensuring detailed project plans are built and managed, all deliverables are met, and timelines are achieved. This position will report to the Associate Director, Corporate Continuous Improvement. This position will be located in Danbury, CT.

  • Responsible for leading and project managing a variety of large cross-functional as well as smaller local continuous improvement projects
  • Responsible for project managing strategic projects identified by senior leadership and/or key stakeholder groups across the organization
  • Responsible for leading and ensuring timely execution/roll-out of strategic projects that can/will span across stakeholder groups and functions, as well as across geographies (i.e. Danbury, Westlake Village, and Marlborough)
  • Ensuring strong relationships are built with both internal and external stakeholders and partners, and identifying opportunities to continually foster and strengthen those relationships to ensure deliverables meet their identified milestones
  • Proactively sets up and leads both individual meetings with SMEs, as well as leading cross functional/collaborative project meetings to ensure transparency to all work streams, alignment amongst the team, and decisions are being made in a timely manner. This includes building and managing agendas, minutes from meetings and follows up with all action items to ensure project progress
  • Keeps leadership updated on progress of current or impending roadblocks
  • Exhibits good judgement as to when to elevate an issue for resolution to senior management when potential actions may delay a program
  • Manages project progress on a continual basis, proactively identifying resource, timeline and budget issues and works with SMEs to identify solutions
  • Closely monitors activities across all functions involved in the program to ensure achievement of key decision points and milestones according to time, cost, and quality parameters of the endorsed plan
  • Maintenance of project plans across teams
  • Build and drive the communication plans for the projects, working closely with and aligning all key stakeholders
  • Ensures effective, accurate, and timely communication of project information to meet the needs of the asset team and stakeholders
  • Proactively identify improvements to project/portfolio management systems and reporting mechanisms -

  • Ensure compliance with policies, standards, local laws and regulations
  • Duties and responsibilities are not limited to the work listed above and may include other assignments as necessary
  • Responsible for observing all Company, Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines. (Where reference is made to regulatory environment requirements and/or compliance this includes all applicable regulations i.e. FDA, ISO 13485/9001, European requirements, etc.)

    Minimum qualifications to perform the job; specific skills, education, knowledge and job experience necessary to perform essential duties; physical requirements for job if any.
    • B.S. Degree, preferably in Life Sciences plus 8+ or more years of experience preferably in the bio pharma industry
    • Lean Six Sigma certification preferred and demonstrated successful experience leading and implementing continuous improvement projects
    • Demonstrated ability to work with product teams to generate reports and analysis, as well as provide business management support cross-functionally
    • Highly collaborative team player capable of collaborating with individuals at all levels (individual contributors to executives), across the business
    • A confident and strategic individual who is able to think out loud and "brainstorm" in a collegial manner, as well as having the ability to ask critical thinking questions to drive project/team decision making amongst SMEs
    • Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a nimble fast paced matrixed environment
    • Advanced knowledge and skill with project management software (smartsheet, MS Project), MS Excel and other reporting and tracking tools
    • Demonstrated ability to manage and influence up and across an organization with regards to product development and strategy
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Self-organized with attention to detail, highly motivated with strong critical thinking and analytical skills
    • Strong intellectual curiosity and rigor, and well-developed project management execution skills
    • An innovative, data-driven and effective person with a "can do" attitude -
    • A person who operates effectively in a small company and manage across multiple time zones within a matrixed organization
    • Strong track record of performance on cross-functional teams and results through effective implementation of project management methodology, tools, and techniques
    • Knowledge and experience in drug development, medical, and/or commercial disciplines with proven performance in business performance and project delivery
    • Strong, interpersonal, communication, and meeting facilitation skills
    • Experience with stakeholder management, governance management, and communicating key messages to senior-level stakeholders -
    • Demonstrated ability to utilize project management tools and techniques (such as developing integrated project plans, project change control, project risk management, and decision analysis)
    • Familiarity with pharmaceutical or medical device development and manufacturing, working with contract manufacturing organizations, budget management, and related areas
