Chief Financial and Administrative Officer, the incoming Chief
People and Culture Officer (CPCO) has the exciting opportunity to
join the organization during a time of inflection, reflection, and
growth. Building on the momentum of a new strategic plan, as well
as deep and evolving commitments to diversity, equity, inclusion,
and belonging, the CPCO will reimagine and reshape the role of the
people team at SAGE, and its impact on our organization. This work
will require a leader who is animated by SAGEs mission, and will
bring significant HR and DEI expertise - including system and
process design and implementation, alongside creative and strategic
visioning - to this expanding organization. Areas of Leadership:
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Building upon the existing work
of the organization to become ever more inclusive, anti-ageist, and
anti-racist, develop the vision, strategy, and goals for diversity,
equity, and inclusion at SAGE to strengthen the organizational
culture and advance SAGEs mission.Human Resources: Develop the
vision, strategy, and goals for the HR function, with an eye toward
serving all members of the organization equitably, transparently,
and in a service-oriented way. Continue to develop and build out
the infrastructure needed to support a robust and effective HR team
and function.Culture & Communication: With a focus on building a
shared vision for a cohesive organizational culture consistent with
SAGEs Strategic Plan, lead the expansion of transparency of
communication and collaboration between departments, staff within
departments at every level including managers, coordinators,
ground-level staff and the community we are serving. Deeply engage
stakeholders at all levels of the organization to determine the
vision for SAGEs culture, consistent with the goal of fostering
organizational cohesion during a time of evolution and
growth.Collaboration & Change Management: Partner with the
executive leadership team, board of directors, and staff to build
buy-in and alignment, and rally the organization around a shared
vision for DEI. Work cross-functionally to implement systems that
will break down silos and promote collaboration.Direct Management:
Lead the People and Culture team, providing overall leadership and
guidance to the function including: talent acquisition, onboarding,
career development, succession planning, retention, training,
leadership development, compensation, and benefits. Oversee the
development and monitoring of diversity, equity, and inclusion
goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and analyze and share
observations regarding programmatic practice and innovation,
internal and external DEI metrics, and organizational culture and
practice. Core Competencies:Mission & Values Alignment: Deeply and
personally understands the work with LGBTQ+, aging communities, and
communities of color. Passion for - and commitment to - SAGEs
mission to serve LGBTQ+ elders so that they achieve a high quality
of life.Executive & Team Leadership: At least 10 years in an
executive leadership seat, preferably in an organization
experiencing significant growth or change. Proven history of
leading, inspiring, and developing cohesive and high functioning
teams with diverse identities to effectively deliver outcomes while
centering an organizations mission. Track record of effective
collaboration with other executive leaders. Experience setting and
driving strategy at the organization level. Ability to manage up,
down, and across an organization effectively, with and without
formal authority.DEI Expertise: Demonstrates deep knowledge of
diversity, equity, and inclusion principles and practices. Brings
broad experience envisioning, leading, and implementing practices
that demonstrably advance equity, diversity, and inclusion within
an organization.HR Expertise & Leadership: Significant expertise in
the fundamentals of HR, and experience leading a comprehensive HR
function. Ability to assess, navigate, and address structural
issues and willingness and readiness to build and sustain a new
approach, from the overall vision to the nuts & bolts of the People
& Culture function. Track record of driving strong implementation
and adoption of HR systems and processes. Culture & Change
Leadership: Experience leading the evolution of systems and
processes to advance strategic goals, support equity, and build a
cohesive culture during times of growth. Experience engaging with
diverse staff and leadership to promote trust, teamwork,
partnership, and engagement across departments and levels of
leadership. Outstanding, transparent communicator with the ability
to drive and support internal communications. Demonstrated
experience evaluating and meaningfully improving the culture of an
organization. SALARY, BENEFITS, AND LOCATION:SAGE offers a
competitive salary and benefits package. The salary range for this
role is $180-200k. This is a hybrid role, and the expectation is
that the CPCO is in the office 2-3 days/wk and possibly more often
as required with some travel for conferences and board meetings.
