My Email Job Description The Lamoille North Supervisory Union is looking for a dynamic administrator to serve as its Director of Early Education; this position reports directly to the Director of Student Services. The Director of Early Education is responsible for overseeing and supporting school communities in the provision of universal publicly funded prekindergarten education. He/she acts
  as a liaison between the schools and preschool programs in the community to assure all 3, 4, and 5
  year old children in the district have access to Prekindergarten education in accordance with
  Vermont Act 166. Additionally, this role supports the early education professional learning
  communities, streamlines the registration process for parents & private providers, and supervises
  early childhood special educators to carry out Child Find activities.
  This position also is responsible for over-seeing Early Childhood Special Education for the LNSU. This requires the successful candidate to have experience in and be fluent with the Vermont State Special Education Rules as they apply to children transitioning from CIS into our early special educating programs. Knowledge of budgeting, supervision and evaluation of professionals and an ability to problem solve programming for our youngest learners a must.
  Essential Job Functions
  ? Outreach: Develops contracts between individual preschool programs and the LNSU
  school districts.
  ? Outreach: Collaborate with school districts within the supervisory union for any SU wide
  marketing and parent communication for Prekindergarten.
  ? Outreach: Maintains communication with school principals about Prekindergarten
  students.
  ? Outreach: Participates in planning and attends community outreach events such as child
  find activities.
  ? Program Oversight: Informs parents, schools, and community of which programs are
  qualified.
  ? Program Oversight: Facilitates the registration process between schools and families for
  tuition.
  ? Program Oversight: Attends monthly Building Bright Futures meetings to be liaison
  between Act 166 in Lamoille Valley and LNSU.
  ? Acts as a liaison between LNSU Business office and partner preschools for questions
  around payment processing.
  ? Reporting: Provides enrollment numbers for budget to schools.
  Act as the LEA designee for our early childhood special education teams; provide training of new staff and on-going training for veteran staff in Special Education Rules and best practices
  
  Required Level of Education & Experience:
  Master Degree in Special Education and/or Early Education
  Three years of satisfactory teaching experience
  Demonstrated experience facilitating community relationships
  
  Desired Qualifications:
  
  Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with parents, teachers and other professionals.
  Knowledge of School Readiness.
  Knowledge of effective curriculum and best practices in instruction for Prekindergarten
  Certifications and Licenses
  Hold or be able to obtain a Vermont Educator's license with an endorsement in Early Childhood
  Education or Early Childhood Special Education
  Hold or be able to obtain a Vermont Educator's license with an administrator endorsement.
