Job Description:

A Talascend client in Montgomery, AL has an immediate need for an Accounting Manager. SUMMARY:-- Manage all aspects of accounting functions for a large manufacturing facility.--Provide sales and earnings statements to assist leaders in making business decisions.--Develop and maintain accounting compliance standards; develop appropriate reports; manage inventory controls. PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS:--

• Accredited BS Degree in Accounting required--(CPA/CMA is a preferred)
• 5 years accounting experience in Manufacturing Environment
• Strong cost accounting background
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Infor LN or other major ERP software knowledge is desired
• Experience with Report Writing Systems such as Cognos and data analysis software such as TM1 is desired
• Strong analytical skills and general knowledge of accounting principles in a complex environment
• Proven interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
• Detail-oriented / sense of urgency / follow-through
• Ability to multi-task, work independently, and work effectively in varying environments
• Change Agent Mentality PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Reconcile and ensure accuracy of balance sheet accounts; maintain detail supporting schedules
  • Complete month end close process including journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Identify and analyze manufacturing labor, material, and financial budget variances
  • Review accounting processes for accuracy and potential for improvement; implement changes as required
  • Work in cross-functional team to be the resident expert for all questions / issues involving financials
  • Assist Operations Team in preparation of weekly, monthly, and annual forecasts
  • Produce and distribute financial statements, assuring timeliness and accuracy
  • Assist Corporate Compliance in testing internal controls for Sarbanes Oxley compliance
  • Ensure compliance with company policies related to finance
