Job Description:
Requirements -Must be at least 21 years of age -Have one season
of previous experience as a camp waterfront director at a New York
State childrens camp; or -2 seasons of previous experience
consisting of at least 12 weeks as a childrens camp lifeguard which
had more than one lifeguard supervising at a time; or -18 weeks of
previous experience as a lifeguard ar a swimming pool or bathing
beach, which had more than one lifeguard supervising it at a time.
-Hold an accepted and current CPR certificate -Annually review and
document the review of the camps safety plan for swimming -Possess
current certification in a training course for lifeguard
supervision and management. (ex: ARC, Boy Scouts of America, SOLO
Wilderness Emergency Medicine, etc) Additional responsibilities
include: -Supervising a team of 4-5 lifeguards -Overseeing ALL
swimming activities that occur at the waterfront -Implementing the
camp safety plan (as determined by the NYS Department of Health)
-Working within a team of camp administrators to reinforce safety
expectations and provide constant supervision to staff and campers
