experienced, motivated Process Engineer with prior Thin
Films/Converting Experience who will become an integral part of our
team. The Process Engineer is responsible for supporting and
improving the effectiveness of operational execution by evaluating,
creating and improving processes to qualify new products and define
manufacturing specifications that meet customer needs and improves
safety, work flow processes and material yields. The ability to be
flexible with their schedule in order to meet the needs of all
three shifts is essential.This position will support
commercializing products from development stage to operational by
studying customer and R&D requirements, work with R&D,
operators, QA. The Process Engineer will identify equipment
parameters for new product trials, set up and monitor new product
trials on production equipment, determine optimal process
conditions; validate run conditions; capture data to ensure
operational runs will meet product, customer specs; and create and
record complete and accurate data related to SMP and SOP.Reporting
to the Director of Engineering this position is strongly focused on
customer-oriented solutions and as such will work closely with R &
D, Sales & Marketing, IT, Suppliers and Vendors,
Operations/Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Customers, Consultants
and Regulatory Agencies to interpret and deliver on all customer
and company expectations.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supports commercializing products from development stage to
operational by studying customer and R&D requirements, working
with R&D, operators, QA, and pricing; by identifying equipment
parameters for new product trials, setting up and monitoring new
product trials on production equipment, determining optimal process
conditions (speed, coat weight, settings, etc); validating run
conditions; capturing data to ensure operational runs will meet
product, customer specs; and creating and recording complete and
accurate related SMP and SOP.
- Confirms product performance by conducting tests, reporting on
results, and ensuring full validation process is completed and
recorded for future use. Determines alternative solutions to
overcome barriers.
- Constructs Designed Experiments and Executes Trial Plans by
using effective DOE and project management skills to optimize
machine speeds, coating thickness
- Improves work flow by maintaining process documentation system,
SMP and SOP, machine set up instructions, revision levels and
traceability; by modifying equipment for new product, environment,
CCR, CAR and/or safety initiatives.
- Reduces waste by creating and monitoring tooling; by
inspecting, storing, scheduling installation on equipment and
ensuring optimal working conditions; by cleaning and repairing or
scheduling repairs with external vendors.
- Optimizing production by working with production planning on
asset loading and feasibility; working with pricing to determine
best alternatives and accurate cost/pricing recommendations.
- Communicates project information by ensuring the right people
have the necessary information, including providing status reports
(collecting, analyzing, summarizing information and trends) and
obtaining feedback.
- Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and
summarizing information and trends, recommending actions.
- Contributes to Company effectiveness by providing positive AOP
results; by recommending trial SMPs and courses of action
internally on new product development within coating, metalizing,
and rewind/slitting areas; by leading related initiatives; by
optimizing life of tooling; investigating CAR/CCR; recommending and
evaluating new equipment.
- Creates a safe work environment by following and reinforcing
regulatory compliance and Company safety policies; by ensuring safe
run conditions during trials and training personnel in related safe
practices; by working safely, making recommendations to improve
safety and remove hazards; and by maintaining a clean and organized

or without notice.JOB SPECIFICATUIONS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education - Bachelor's degree in Engineering (mechanical,
process, chemical or industrial). Proven success in evaluating
customer and product requirements and creating equipment parameters
to meet these requirements.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a high-tech manufacturing
industry. Prior experience in coating, laminating, packaging or
printing is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability in - proven success with equipment related
root-cause analysis and implementation of successful solutions;
strong analytical thinking and data interpretation; statistics and
process control calculations; mechanical aptitude; trouble
shooting, problem solving, project management, and effective
communication skills (in-person, documentation/reporting).
- Knowledge of statistics, graphing and data analysis Knowledge
of Statgraphics or MiniTab and/or CAD is a plus.
- Computer skills - Demonstrated knowledge of basic software
applications (word processing, spreadsheets and
