service providers in the United States. Switchboard’s mission is to
provide comprehensive support and guidance to professionals and
organizations involved in refugee resettlement. We aim to empower
and equip service providers with the tools they need to facilitate
successful and sustainable integration for newcomers in their new

Duration & Schedule: 4-5 months Flexible part-time schedule (10–15
hours per week), ideally aligned with an academic term. This is an
unpaid internship structured for educational benefit and skill
development. About the Internship: This internship offers a
structured, mentorship-driven learning experience for individuals
passionate about video editing, digital storytelling, and
educational content creation. Interns will gain hands-on skills
through guided projects, observation of Switchboard’s Innovation
and Digital Access (IDiA) team workflows, and personalized
feedback. The IDiA team champions co-design and community-led
innovation, integrating technology into resettlement services
through game-based learning, digital skills training, and immersive
experiences. Training Activities & Educational Assignments Under
the supervision of the Emerging Technology Coordinator the intern
will: Shadowing the IDiA team as they produce educational and tech
tutorial videos. Practicing video editing on content related to
digital literacy, mobile apps, Virtual Reality tools, and other
technologies used by newcomers and service providers. Assisting
with tasks like trimming clips, adding captions, inserting simple
graphics, and organizing project assets. Completing guided
exercises that simulate real-world editing workflows. Participating
in weekly learning sessions on storytelling, instructional clarity,
and video accessibility. Research and testing new technologies for
the team to use and integrate in the Technology in Resettlement
Community of Practice. Complete a final project (e.g., written
deliverables such as a blog or portfolio item) that integrates
lessons learned throughout the internship. Shadow team members to
observe content development, editing, and publishing processes.
Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and content
reviews to gain exposure to collaborative planning. Supervision &
Evaluation The intern will be assigned a dedicated mentor for
regular feedback and guidance. Progress will be evaluated based on
learning objectives The internship is designed to complement
academic studies and may qualify for academic credit, depending on
university requirements. Learning Objectives: Able to edit and
produce educational video content using beginner-to-intermediate
workflows and tools such as CapCut, KineMaster, or DaVinci Resolve.
Apply core editing techniques such as cutting, sequencing, adding
subtitles, and adapting content for accessibility and cultural
clarity. Learn about refugee resettlement and the role of digital
tools in supporting newcomer integration. Organize and manage
project files following basic production standards, while building
a small portfolio of practice projects. Eligibility: Current
student or recent graduate in communications, design, film, social
work, or a related field. Must be able to provide documentation
from an academic institution This is an unpaid internship position.
No financial compensation, including compensation for relocation,
