MORE ABOUT THIS JOB: EXECUTIVE OFFICE The Executive Office plays an integral role in setting and advancing Goldman Sachs corporate strategy, as well as in preserving the firms distinctive culture. We are responsible for safeguarding the firms relationship with alumni, clients, shareholders, policy makers, and the broader public, while ensuring our own people remain informed about the firms evolving priorities. We also partner with the businesses to source high-impact opportunities in line with the firms social and sustainability agendas. RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS: About Goldman Sachs Marketing Led by the firms first Chief Marketing Officer, the marketing function at Goldman Sachs is backed by momentum and a broad imperative to unify the discipline, helping to codify a business-critical function seen as core to the firms future growth. As such, GS is focused on building out a data-and-technology enabled team of growth marketers, delivering value for the brand and the business. The organization will consist of COE teams including Brand Marketing, Marketing Strategy & Transformation, Content, and Media, as well marketing teams for each of our revenue divisions. Together, this function will collaborate to build a unified, scalable, and consistent approach to marketing the brand and its offerings. Our mission is to be a demonstrable force multiplier for the businesses we serve. About the Research & Effectiveness Team The Goldman Sachs Research & Effectiveness (R&E) team is one of the COE groups within the Global Marketing organization. Our mission is to enable the firm to make data-driven decisions by providing actionable insights that drive business and commercial outcomes. We consult with our partners in the firms business units (e.g. Consumer Wealth Management, Asset Management, Investment Banking, Global Markets, Executive Office, etc.) to understand key business questions and marketing objectives, and provide hands-on service to design qualitative and quantitative research to drive the business forward. We are looking for excellent senior researcher to work as part of our COE. Responsibilities Lead the Research & Effectiveness team. Develop a strategic vision for research and effectiveness that anticipates business questions and empowers stakeholders to make decisions that are accurate and informed. Constantly challenge and revisit questions about what we measure, the methodology behind it, and the goals the data serves Work with internal stakeholders to understand their needs, and propose data-first solutions fitted to their goals. Be a business developer and data evangelist, elevating the reach of the analytics practice across the firm Translate data findings into concise, actionable insights that can guide efforts across all our lines of business Maintain and further develop Global Marketings data warehouse, starting from the existing foundation and into a full-funnel, self-service data repository Basic Qualifications 15+ years experience in a research role within marketing or media Strong leadership abilities, with skill in leading through influence and positive examples as well as direct management of teams Efficient communicator with the ability to distill strategic insights into action items for non-technical audiences Hands-on experience with performance analytics methodologies such as attribution modeling, regression analysis and time series analysis Data visualization proficiency with at least one major visualization tool, including Tableau, Power BI, Datorama, QlikSense or Oracle Analytics Cloud Experience with web analytics platforms such as Adobe Analytics, Oracle and Google Analytics Ability to set up and analyze social media listening queries and Natural Language Processing engines (Brandwatch, Sprinklr, Sysomos, etc.) Natural ability to connect with and establish rapport with leaders across the organization Proactive, team player with strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative spirit Entrepreneurial and an inventive problem solver; curious and passionate about all areas of marketing, media, content, and design Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a dynamic fast-paced environment that requires exceptional attention to detail 4-year college degree Preferred Qualifications Preferred experience in media, financial services and/or demonstrated knowledge of relevant business areas Expertise or familiarity managing relational databases in SQL or Alteryx Proven track record of working with senior stakeholders, and developing business relationships internally Preference for working in a fast-paced, agile, high-performance culture Experience using Python or R for statistical analysis ABOUT GOLDMAN SACHS: We believe who you are makes you better at what you do.
